The James Story

Jeramie and I met during college at a grooming salon. I was applying for a job and he was a bather there. (He always wants me to add that he was a bather waiting for a position at the affiliated vet clinic.) I walk in and who greets me but a soggy boy in the middle of bathing a husky. It was love at first sight for me. It must have been for him too because he is the one who insisted the manager hire me.
Friends at first he made my heart flutter every time he sat next to me to blow dry a cocker or brush out a sheltie. We began working as a team much more than necessary in dog grooming. It didn't take long before we were studying together and meeting at the Dixie Chicken. Then...he kissed me...(this is when the oldies song should be playing).
Jeramie graduated and followed about a year later. Then, went another year in our "careers". We dated five years before he proposed and I was beginning to think it would never happen. We had a beautiful wedding in downtown San Antonio. It was fit for a fairy tale.
In marriage bliss we moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico. There, Jeramie worked long hours and I struggled to find my place. I eventually opened my own grooming Salon, Bark Avenue, and was quite content. So content we decided to start a family. This is when Jeramie got transferred to Houston.
Asher was born in Houston but just barely. I thought I would continue my "career" but Jeramie and I soon realized we would do what ever it took to make my career - Mother. It has been hard but worth every penny we didn't have. Being home for my husband and raising my children myself is truly a gift and I cherish every day I get to do it.
A year later we found our house in Katy and we have been making it a home ever since. We are enjoying the area, our new found friends, and our church family.
Jeramie and I just celebrated 5 years of marriage (of course he working was off shore). For our anniversary we gave each other a baby girl. We completed our family in just five years, now it is time to watch them grow.
So, for the past 10 years we have been building our little family and creating an amazing life together. Step by step, year by year. Everyday I am in total amazement of our wonderful life together and look forward to many years to come.
